This is the fifth time that we decided kitchen draw to make a new coop. You can call it a minor renovation of some sort. The Kabir chickens are slowly turning into giants, and they naturally need a more spacious home.

We feed them as much as they can eat, since we treat our Kabir chickens as pets. The rule is to never leave the feeder empty for more than 2 hours.
oh. that’s really expensive kabir raising. i have 7 kabir chickens and my 3 kilos of feeds last for a week. we free range them so we only feed them mornings and afternoons. also, they haven’t been treated with incandescent kitchen draw lighting since they arrived (1-3 days old). kawawa pala mga kabir ko. hinahabol pa ng mga aso, gustong laruin.
can’t really compete with your chickens. i’ll try what you’re doing in my next batch. experiment lang muna for now to know the most efficient setup. ayaw ko rin kasi masyado mabilis lumaki kasi may kapitbahay nang gusto bilhin. they are being treated as pets. together with our guinea pigs, they just roam around. it doesn’t feel good butchering/selling them too soon.
Try feeding your Kabir chickens malunggay leaves. They love it! We do this everyday. Simply bunch together a couple of malunggay branches and hang them inside the coop. Nakakatuwa kse pati poo-poo nila kulay malunggay!
You can also feed your Kabir papaya fruit, pears, macopa, and mangoes. We can’t raise full organic chickens at this time, since we can’t find certified organic feeds (like corn and rice) in our locale.
Your feeding style is okay. Different strokes for different folks! We also have 7 Kabir chickens at the moment, and 1 Kabir in our friend’s farm in Rizal. Para malaman namin kung cnu mas mabilis lumaki!
the way i treat my chickens only shows how hardy this breed/hybrid is. really good for backyard raising. they also don’t succumb to diseases easily. namatayan na ng native chickens (na supposedly matitibay rin) yong kapitbahay namin dahil sa sipon pero ang amin nanghina lang ng konti.
Try putting garlic, sili, and/or orange peels sa water supply ng mga chickens mo. This will provide kitchen draw them with natural vitamins kitchen draw and antibiotics to boost their immune system. Put 1 or 2 small pieces of garlic and/or siling labuyo for every gallon of water.

sorry for the 8 chicks you lost. the possible reasons that they died can be dehydration. or loss of food. even food stick in some parts of its body. that makes it to be poisoned. or the same as mine that they are like binubugbog ang isat isa dahil sa kulang ng space food or water ad overcrowding. I just said it so that the loss of chicks kitchen draw might be prevented

Wow nice blog… salamat sa mga impormasyon Matanong ko lang po kung gano katagal alagaan ang kabir bago siya mag lay ng egg, plano ko po kasi mag alaga ng mga ito para extra income din, at ano po ang magandang ipakain at way ng pagaalaga para mas madami silang mag lay ng eggs thanks…
We are still experimenting on the proper way to care for an egg laying chicken, in this case, female texas chicken and male Kabir. Our female Kabir has yet to lay eggs, but we are expecting it to do so very soon!
We will come up with a new post regarding this subject. I guess the only advice I can give you so far is to isolate the hen and the rooster in a seperate cage/coop and provide at least 3 to 4 hens for each rooster (if you have a large flock of chickens.)
